STOCKTON — With a strong outing by sophomore pitcher Ricky Reynoso, combined with a big fifth inning from its surging lineup, the Pacific baseball team claimed its first West Coast Conference series of the season Sunday at Klein Family Field.

Pacific defeated the Pepperdine Waves 4-1 to win a series against the Waves for the second time since joining the WCC in 2014. A crowd of 340 saw the Tigers get 11 more hits.

Reynoso defeated the Waves, picked in the preseason poll to finish third after qualifying for the WCC postseason each of the past three seasons, by throwing 6 2/3 quality innings.
