Ongstad Breaks Record On Day One of UNLV Invite

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - In the first day of the three-day UNLV Invitational, the Pacific Tigers found themselves atop the leaderboards, with the men in first and the women in second. The men won four of the five events on the day, with the women picking up two wins as well.

Mitchell Ongstad set the school record in the 50 Free, breaking a 21-year-old time set by Olympian Brad Schumacher when he swam a 19.68. That time also the ninth-fastest in all of Division I swimming this year.

In the relays, Pacific took home two wins, both by the men, as well as a second-place finish.
