STOCKTON — DJ Ursery slashed through the key and laid a shot off the glass that fell softly into the basket during a recent intra-squad scrimmage at Janssen-Lagorio Gymnasium.
The move caught most everyone’s attention, the sheer athleticism and power from a player who hasn’t grabbed much notice through his first two seasons on the Pacific men’s basketball team.
Might this be a new DJ Ursery?
He certainly hopes so.
The 6-foot-4 junior guard out of Crespi High in Los Angeles showed flashes but generally had two disappointing seasons under former coaches Ron Verlin and Mike Burns.
