The World Cup of Hockey has now completed the group stage, with Canada, Sweden, Russia, and Europe moving on to the semifinals. Most people mocked the concept ahead of time, but once the tournament started, people realized they were hockey starved and have at least come around to the format. The pure entertainment of Team North America definitely did some things in there.
The problem is that the Senators only have one player in the tournament: Erik Karlsson. I was campaigning for Mika Zibanejad a couple months ago, but obviously that’s now irrelevant.
