OTTAWA - Didn’t take long for the Ottawa Senators to shake the underdog label.
Give a tip of the cap to Jean-Gabriel Pageau.
It was his turn to play the role of hero as the Senators centre scored his fourth goal of the game as Ottawa scored a 6-5 overtime comeback victory over the New York Rangers to take a 2-0 series lead Saturday at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Pageau beat Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist for the winner at 2:54 in the second overtime period to put the Senators in the driver’s seat as the series moves to Madison Square Garden for the next two games.
