Senators encouraged as MacArthur set to accompany team

The baby blue practice jersey hanging in the dressing room stall between Bobby Ryan and Zack Smith wasn’t sweat-soaked, but it actually was used before the Senators were put through their most recent, 90-minute whip-cracking session at Canadian Tire Centre.

Later, coach Guy Boucher was reluctant to even use the word “skated” or anything else Clarke MacArthur has done in his recovery from his most recent concussion, because it’s still very early in what we were again reminded is a “long term process”.

But the fact of the matter is MacArthur was on the ice Thursday morning and, barring any setbacks, he’s expected to accompany the team on its three-game road trip to Western Canada next week.
