RALEIGH, N.C. — Pierre Dorion has the green light to do whatever it takes for a playoff payoff for the Senators.
With the clock ticking towards the NHL trade deadline (next Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET) the Senators GM told the travelling media if he wants to make a move to help Ottawa down the stretch then owner Eugene Melnyk he has given him the go-ahead to get this team to the post-season.
“Mr. Melnyk has told me from Day 1, ‘Do what you have to do to get this team to the playoffs,'” Dorion said Wednesday at the club’s hotel.
