Ryan hot, but still has a ways to go to catch Heatley ... No regrets for letting Hemsky go ... Hoffman celebrates 26th birthday with goal ... Bacon for reporters

DALLAS - Remembered for declaring he was "coming in hot" when acquired by the Senators in the summer of 2013, Bobby Ryan is sizzling like no other time in his career.

The Senators winger extended his personal best point scoring streak to nine games with a first-period goal Tuesday against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.

Suddenly, the struggles Ryan had in the final two months of last season seem like they weren't real. Once again, he has become a go-to guy the Senators need to compete with the top dogs in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, if you're thinking Ryan is closing in on Senators franchise record, well, he still has a long way to go for that.
