Ottawa Senators coach congratulates old pal Joe Maddon on winning World Series

Senators coach Guy Boucher started his daily meeting with the media Thursday morning by congratulating Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon.

While coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2010-2013, Boucher got to know Maddon a bit while he was the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Boucher threw out the first pitch at a Rays game and it was Maddon who pushed him to do it with a hockey stick rather than throw from the mound.

Boucher said he did a lot of practice trying to throw the ball from the mound but wasn’t having a lot of success before Maddon suggested he had some hockey sticks he could use instead.
