OTTAWA – The following statements are on behalf of IllumiNATION LeBreton which submitted an extensive proposal on December 15, 2015, to the National Capital Commission (NCC) to redevelop LeBreton Flats, a 53-acre site on the western edge of downtown Ottawa.
Eugene Melnyk, along with a 135-member team of urban planners, transportation experts, architects, environmental advisors and technical experts collectively spent more than 14 months to develop their 2,000-page submission to the NCC.
“Today’s decision by the NCC puts us considerably closer to our vision of creating a signature destination and a modern urban community to welcome even more visitors to the nation’s capital,” said Melnyk.
