Edmonton Oilers rookie phenom lets his actions do the talking

He wears no glasses, but there is an unmistakable Clark Kent-turns-Superman aura surrounding Connor McDavid.

Talking outside the Edmonton Oilers dressing room at the Canadian Tire Centre Thursday — a necessity given the crush of media attention — he was as mild mannered as hockey players come.

Sporting scraggly blond facial hair, which goes this way and that, he could pass for any other 19-year-old on the street.

He’s also a low talker, mumbling about the importance of focusing on small details, deflecting attention away from his ridiculous talent and the spectacular goal he scored against Columbus on Tuesday in his return from a broken collarbone.
