Winger Erik Condra inks three-year deal with Tampa Bay Lightning

Erik Condra has decided to take his act to the Sunshine State.

The Senators’ winger, who was seeking a three-year deal from Ottawa, was able to get it from the Tampa Bay Lightning when he agreed to a contract that will pay him $1.25 million per-season.

Condra, 28, is close friends with Tampa coach Jon Cooper and was an usher at his wedding. It’ll be a disappointing loss for Ottawa fans, who were hoping Condra would stay with the Senators because he was part of a formidable trio with Curtis Lazar and Jean-Gabriel Pageau last season.

But the Senators want to give the likes Matt Puempel a shot to play next year and this opens up the opportunity.
