Bryan Murray knows a thing or two about building a hockey team, and now he's being honoured for his role in building the community.
United Way Ottawa will award the Senators GM its highest honour, presenting Murray with the Community Builder of the Year award at a gala on May 28.
Murray will be honoured with the award "for the values of community involvement he instills on the Senators team, as well as raising awareness for testing for colon cancer," the United Way said in announcing the award Wednesday.
The awards gala, held this year at the Shaw Centre, honours the achievements of those "who work tirelessly to make our city better.
