WASHINGTON — Nikola Vucevic demonstrated his growth as a defender during an 11-second stretch Sunday night.
With 7:07 remaining in the third quarter, Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond leaned into Vucevic along the left edge of the lane as Drummond prepared to receive an entry pass, but Vucevic did not budge. Instead, Vucevic forced Drummond to catch the ball one or two feet outside the paint. A few seconds later, Drummond faced up Vucevic and drove. When Drummond elevated for a shot, Vucevic stripped the ball.
Pistons forward Tobias Harris collected the ball and drove to the hoop.
