Cindric was a prime candidate to make the jump to NASCAR’s top series after winning the 2020 Xfinity title. He instead decided to stay put and get another year of seasoning.
First, though, the 22-year-old is seeking to get his first taste of Cup racing during Sunday’s Daytona 500, the sport’s showcase event scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Fox.
Cindric will have two chances, beginning at 7:30 Wednesday night during qualifying. If he comes up short on time, Cindric also could get into the 500′s 40-car field with a strong finish during Thursday night’s Duels.
“It’s a big challenge,” Cindric said.
