Osia Lewis, former Oregon State player and coach, being treated for liver cancer

Osia Lewis, the former Oregon State player and assistant who now coaches outside linebackers at Vanderbilt, is being treated for liver cancer, Vanderbilt announced Tuesday.

Lewis, who just completed his first season at Vanderbilt, was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma in mid-January and has already begun cheomotherapy treatment at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. The tumor is currently inoperable due to its location.

"This has taught me to enjoy every day, and enjoy the ride," Lewis said in the piece published on Vanderbilt's athletic website. "At the end of the day, I've got (wife) Darlene. I've got the kids.
