Oregon State baseball knows NCAA Tournament bid still not sealed entering final week

CORVALLIS – Reflecting on what still lies ahead, Trever Morrison could only lean back and shake his head.

Entering this season as the shortstop in the most talented infield Morrison said he had ever played with, the Oregon State junior agreed it was strange that the Beavers now found themselves with three games left in the year and without a sure place in the NCAA Tournament.

"With the talent we got, I feel like we should have been a for sure spot," Morrison said. "It's just how it is."

After a surprise run to finish second in the Pac-12 with a young group last season, conference coaches projected this Oregon State team – armed with a year of experience and an infusion of talented freshman – to win the program's third league title in four years.
