Less than three weeks after Oregon State alumni Devon Collier signed with French basketball club Poitiers Basket 86, another Beavers legend in Roberto Nelson has signed with Italian team, Roseto Sharks. Roseto competes in the country’s Serie A2, the equivalent of the Italian basketball structure’s second-division.
Nelson is coming off a split 2016-2017 campaign, where he spent time playing in the USA (Delaware 87ers), Mexico (Toros) and France (Chorale Roanne Basket) over the course of 20 games. His longest stay was with Mexican side Toros, where Nelson averaged 11.7 points and 4.5 assists per game in 11 contests.
