REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – Three crews from the No. 17 Oregon State men's rowing team earned victories Saturday against higher-ranked crews from Stanford and Wisconsin at the Pac-12 Challenge.
The Beavers’ Varsity 8 burst off the line to take an early lead against the Cardinal in morning racing. However, No. 14 Stanford recovered to take a narrow lead by the 1,000-meter mark and held on to defeat the Beavers with a time of 5:44.6 to OSU’s 5:46.5.
In the afternoon, OSU’s V8 returned to face No. 11 Wisconsin and once again found itself in a dead heat with the Badgers.
