GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Oregon State redshirt junior Max Engelbrekt has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s Stopper of the Year midseason watch list, it was announced Thursday.
Given to the top relief pitcher in the country, the award, now in its 12th year, has 40 players on the watch list. Engelbrekt is one of four pitchers from the Pac-12 Conference on it.
The lefty is tied for the Pac-12 lead with 10 saves, and leads the Beavers with 19 appearances this season. He is 1-2 and has worked 25 innings, striking out 27 to 10 walks.
