The University of Oregon women tightened their hold on the top while the UO men made what will probably be a short-lived rise into the top five of rankings released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association.
The UO women have a commanding lead over No 2 Arkansas.
The UO men moved from sixth to fifth. But the rankings were compiled before the bombshell announcement that Ducks' distance star Edward Cheserek would miss the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a lower back injury.
Cheserek is the reigning NCAA outdoor champion the 5,000 and 10,000 meters.
