TUCSON, Ariz. – In a battle of two of the top pitching staffs in the NCAA, No. 6 Oregon dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 3 Arizona on Friday night at Hillenbrand Stadium.
The Ducks (37-5, 10-5 Pac-12) did not score on five hits with one error. The Wildcats (44-3, 14-2) tallied two runs on seven hits with two errors.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Arizona got on the board first when an Oregon error allowed for an unearned run to score. With runners at first and third and one out, Oregon starter worked out of the jam to limit the Wildcats to just one run.
