No. 1 Beavers stymie Ducks in 4-1 non-conference baseball win

CORVALLIS - His competitive fire and religious faith long-established, Oregon State baseball coach Pat Casey referenced the latter Tuesday when asked about the continued dominance of his pitching staff.

Lightly-used left-handed reliever Jordan Britton got the weekday start against Oregon, taking hill for the first time in a month. During that 14-game absence, Britton had gotten buried in a deep corps of arms that possess the best team earned run average in the country.

But he excelled in 5 2/3 innings of work Tuesday, allowing two hits, one walk and one earned run in the Beavers' 4-1 victory in front of a sellout Goss Stadium crowd.
