Matthew Centrowitz gets the season off to a flying start: Oregon track & field rundown

A couple things ...

-- Matthew Centrowitz got the outdoor season off to a flying start by roaring from behind Sunday to win the 1,500 meters in 3 minutes, 37.96 seconds at the Sydney Grand Prix in Australia.

The former University of Oregon star and 2016 Olympic gold medalist made a change in the offseason by relocating to Washington D.C. from Portland.

The move reconnects Centrowitz with his family and means a bigger hands-on role for his dad, Matt, also a former UO star and the former track coach at American University.

But the younger Centrowitz remains a member of the Nike Oregon Project, and will train with the NOP at the group's altitude camps.
