Injury-slowed Matthew Centrowitz uses his savvy to make the U.S. world championships team

Robby Andrews came flying down the home straight to catch injury-slowed Olympic champion Matthew Centrowitz Saturday, and win the 1,500-meter final at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships in Sacramento.

Andrews was lurking in the pack heading into the final turn. He has the one of most dangerous kicks in professional track.

"It's an honor just to run with him," Andrews said of Centrowitz in a postrace television interview. "I've learned a lot from him and racing against him."

Andrews finished in 3 minutes, 43.29 seconds. Centrowitz, who starred at the University of Oregon and trains with the Nike Oregon Project, came across in in 3:43.
