One) Portland State will try to avoid a blood bath on Saturday at Autzen Stadium. The Vikings gave up 72 points to Nevada last week and get what Portland State coach Bruce Barnum called an "even faster" opponent this week.
Barnum told me in a lively radio interview on Thursday: "... if we're close in the fourth quarter I'm guessing Mr. Knight is going to punch some people in the neck. That's realistic."
He also told me that several Big Sky Conference coaches have an ongoing group text in which they share notes on the FBS opponents.
