The Oregon baseball team lost its first two series in Pac-12 play this spring, then won the next two. The Ducks swept USC earlier this month to extend a winning streak to five games, then promptly lost four in a row.

With a record of 17-16 and an RPI of 101 entering Wednesday night, the Ducks seemed to be well off the bubble for an at-large postseason bid. But after beating Oregon State, 7-6 at PK Park, the UO baseball team has a little momentum. And it takes that momentum into a weekend series against Washington State that will open at home Friday with the Ducks (18-16, 7-8) just two games out of first place in the Pac-12 Conference.
