Ducks Fall in Game One at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – Oregon got another good start from Cole Irvin, but the Ducks’ offense struggled scoring just one run on three hits as Stanford won game one of the Pac-12 series, 2-1, on Thursday night at Sunken Diamond.

How it happened: After both pitchers cruised through the first four innings, Oregon (29-24, 14-14 Pac-12) was able to manufacture a run against Stanford starter Brett Hanewich in the fifth. Carson Breshears, who had a two-out double, scored from third on a Hanewich throwing error to give the Ducks the lead.
