2016 Olympic Trials Day 6: Greg Skipper Contends In Hammer Throw

Preview

During the 2012 Olympic Trials, the Hammer Throw was held on the Auxiliary Field at Hayward, but there was a problem. It was too small. The Hammer Throw differs from other events like the Discus or Javelin in the fact that the Hammer can travel close to and over 200 feet. The challenge entering 2016 was how to make this event not only fit better in the confines of Hayward Field, but also find a way to get the fans out.

One event means that athlete safety for other events will not be an issue.

Today is the only day of the Olympic Trials that is free to attend.
