Oregon vs. Arizona Preview and Prediction

The Pac-12 Championship is set, as Oregon and Arizona meet for the second time this season.

A spot in the College Football Playoffs is at stake for this rematch, which will be held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.

Records:

Oregon: 11-1 (8-1 Pac-12)

Arizona: 10-2 (7-2 Pac-12)

Last Meeting: Arizona won 31-24 on October 2nd 2014

Oregon Outlook: The Ducks won the North division with just one loss - coming to Arizona - to secure a spot in the Championship game.

Led by Marcus Mariota, the Oregon offense was unstoppable this year, averaging 45.9 points per game this year, placing them fourth best in the nation.

Mariota accounted for 47 total touchdowns on the year to lead the offense, but the Ducks got some impressive play from running back Royce Freeman, who rushed for over 1,100 yards and 16 scores.

Arizona Outlook: The Wildcats pulled out a few close wins to end up with the South title. Last second wins over Cal and Washington helped the Wildcats to just two losses in the conference.

Arizona averaged 36.7 points per game on the year, placing them in the top-20 in the country.

Freshman quarterback Anu Solomon threw for 3,424 and 27 touchdowns on the year, while fellow freshman Nick Wilson rushed for 1,263 yards and 15 touchdowns to form one of the youngest and most impressive duos in the Pac-12.

What to watch for: This game should be a shootout, with both offenses well balanced in the passing and running game. With each team already having faced each other this year, the game will come down to who has made the best adjustment to slow down the opposing offense.

Likely, neither defense is going to be able to shut down their opponent, but one big defensive play could turn the tide in what should be another closely contested game.

Prediction:

Oregon - 42, Arizona - 31

The Ducks offense is too powerful to be shutdown by Arizona once again, as Mariota and the offense should make enough adjustments to come out on top in this game. Things should stay close though, as the Wildcats have firepower to compete.
