Hawkins Named Academic All-American

OKLAHOMA CITY - Pitcher Cheridan Hawkins has been named a first team Capital One academic All-American, CoSIDA announced on Friday.

She is the first two-time academic All-American in program history and just the fifth overall to earn academic All-American status at Oregon.

Hawkins is one of only three players in the nation - joining Auburn's Kasey Cooper and Alabama's Haylie McCleney - to be named an NFCA first team All-American and a first team academic All-American in 2015.

Hawkins has a 3.75 GPA in family and human services.

Academic All-Americans at Oregon get their name engraved in the floor at the Jaqua Center on campus.
