South Korean president visits Winter Olympics, talks about possible trip to North Korea

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea — President Moon Jae-in said Saturday he’s not yet prepared to commit to meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in North Korea.

The comment from Moon came one week after he was formally invited by Kim to come to Pyeongyang for talks. The countries, which have technically been at war since they were divided since soon after World War II, are in the midst of an Olympic détente.

Kim, who in the not-so-distant past threatened to annihilate South Korea, invited Moon to visit for talks by letter delivered by his younger sister, Kim Yo Jong.
