In 2008, my freshman year at Dartmouth, I lived on the third floor of Fahey Hall with 15 randomly selected classmates. Two of us would go on to become professional athletes: me, an Olympic runner, and Kyle Hendricks, who was scheduled to be the Cubs’ starting pitcher in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday.
We called him Baseball Kyle because we also had a Hockey Kyle.
