FINA will probably look in November at instituting a minimum age to compete at the World Swimming Championships, according to Reuters.
It comes after a 10-year-old girl competed at the World Championships in Kazan, Russia, earlier this month.
“We have age rules for the juniors, and for all the other disciplines at the World [Aquatics] Championships, but in swimming we don’t have limits,” FINA executive director Cornel Marculescu said, according to Reuters. “Now this story has come up, probably we will look at this at our next [FINA] meeting we have in November in Dubai.
