PYEONGCHANG, South Korea — The bobsled gifted to the Jamaican women’s team by the beer company Red Stripe is not a new sled but rather the same sled the two-woman team had been using leading into the Winter Games, Jamaica Bobsleigh Federation spokesperson Kathleen Pulito said after Monday’s training heats.
“It’s the same sled we’ve been in,” Pulito said. “They gifted it to us, and now Jamaica has its first sled ever.
“It’s such an amazing feeling and we’re so grateful for all of our fans and supporters. What a confidence boost it is for Jamaica to have its own piece of equipment ever.
