Aliza Wolfe scored on a hard shot to right from 27 yards out Friday night, and Rice rolled to a 2-0 win over Old Dominion in a Conference USA women’s soccer match-up.
Krista Moisio made three saves as the Lady Monarchs (5-10-0, 3-4-0) held the Owls scoreless until Wolfe’s tally in the 47th minute. Nia Stallings padded the lead with a shot through traffic from 10 yards out in the 79th to help send ODU to its second straight loss.
Samantha Colley earned the shutout for Rice (9-4-1, 6-2-0), which outshot the Lady Monarchs 12-4.
ODU travels to North Texas on Sunday.
