Old Dominion women’s golf coach Mallory Hetzel was named VaSID Coach of the Year, the organization announced this week.
In her first season, Hetzel led the Lady Monarchs to the Conference USA championship, their first conference title in program history, and first bid to the NCAA tournament.
Old Dominion golfers Maggie Simmermacher and Katerina Vlasinova made the VaSID All-State first team.
Virginia’s sports information directors vote for the awards.
