Old Dominion second baseman Jared Young was named Newcomer of the Year and shortstop Zach Rutherford was the league's Defensive Player of the Year, and C-USA announced its postseason baseball honors Tuesday.
Young, a transfer from Connors State Community College in Oklahoma,
Rutherford and Young were joined on the All-CUSA first team by pitcher Adam Bainbridge, while the freshman trio of Kyle Battle, Vinnie Pasquantino and John Wilson all landed on the all-freshman team.
Rutherford, a shortstop from Western Branch High, committed just four errors this season and produced 191 assists – 30 more than any other player in the conference.
