BOCA RATON, Fla. -- For only the second time in 2017, No. 25 Old Dominion lost a weekend series.
ODU (36-19, 19-11 C-USA) concluded the regular season with a 3-0 loss at Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon at the FAU Baseball Stadium, givng the Owls the 2-1 series win.
With the loss, the Monarchs end the regular season with a 12-2 record in weekend series and a 4-1 mark in road series.
Florida Atlantic (33-19-1, 18-12 C-USA) scored a run in the first, fourth and seventh innings and that would be all of the offense the Owls would need, as Jake Miednik threw eight shutout innings and closer Cameron Ragsdale closed it out with a scoreless ninth for the FAU win.
