Tyrek Coger Autopsy Reveals Enlarged Heart

Tyrek Coger’s death on July 21, 2016 was due to an enlarged heart. The results of the autopsy were released today by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Coger collapsed after running the stairs in Boone Pickens Stadium with members of the Cowboys basketball team as party of a workout.

The Medicial Examiner’s office stated that his death was due to cardiomegaly. Cardiomegaly being the medical term for an enlarged heart. Additionally, it was noted that there was an excess amount of spinal fluid surrounding his brain that contributed to his death.
