After getting behind 2-0 in the bottom of the second, the Cowboys bounced right back to make it 2-2 in the bottom of the third. Jacob Chappell hit a sacrifice bunt to advance Michael Neustifter to third and another sacrifice bunt by Ryan Cash got Neustifter home to make it 2-1. Then an RBI by Colin Simpson got Garrett McCain across after McCain and Garrett Benge both walked earlier in the inning.
