STILLWATER – When Oklahoma State held its on-campus media day back in mid-October, all the players posed for photos in their home white uniforms.
All but one: freshman guard Lindy Waters III.
Waters sported the team's special turquoise edition, reserved to honor the state's Native American history, and for good reason – he's proudly Kiowa and Cherokee.
Now Waters, and his teammates, can put the uniforms on full display Wednesday night when the Cowboys take on Rogers State at Gallagher-Iba Arena. Tip time is 7 p.m.
“I've really embraced my culture all my life,” said Waters, whose given name “Pao” means Three in the Kiowa language.
