OSU football: Mike Gundy is nation's No. 22 highest paid coach per new USA Today database

STILLWATER — There are only 21 head college football coaches in the country with a larger annual salary than Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy.

The Cowboys' 12th-year man will make $3.775 million in 2016, per USA Today's annual database released Wednesday. Gundy's No. 22 ranking is just above Georgia's Kirby Smart ($3.753 million) and below Louisville's Bobby Petrino ($3.88 million).

Gundy is the fourth highest paid coach in the Big 12 behind OU's Bob Stoops ($5.55 million), Texas' Charlie Strong ($5.2 million) and TCU's Gary Patterson ($4.
