The Cowboy tennis team avenged last season’s loss against the Mustangs.
It was no easy road to victory, but Oklahoma State fought past SMU in a 4-2 match Sunday at the SMU Tennis Complex in Dallas.
Last time the Cowboys met the Mustangs, they saw a different result. In March 2016, SMU clobbered OSU 4-0 at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
Sunday, No. 69 Lukas Finzelberg clinched the match for the Cowboys with his 7-6, 6-4 victory against the Mustangs’ Markus Kerner.
Despite its ultimate success, OSU (17-3) had a slightly shaky start. No. 76 Cowboys Lucas Gerch and Jurence Mendoza edged past SMU’s Ronald Slobodchikov and Samm Butler 6-4, but it wasn’t enough for No.
