Throwback uniforms have special meaning for OSU, Stillwater community
Homecoming usually allows for the introuduction of a new uniform combination or bringing back an old standby. This year, it was a little of both. The Cowboys' orange jersey, black helmet combo was a throwback to the early 1990s. Each player has 18 football stickers on the back of his helmet that stands for the 10 people lost in the 2001 men's basketball plane crash, the four people lost in the 2011 women's basketball plane crash and the four who died in the 2015 Homecoming parade crash.
