Energetic fourth quarter scoring run lifts Cowgirls to win against Mountaineers

As Theresa Ekhelar dribbled near midcourt, Loryn Goodwin swooped in front, stole the ball and sprinted the opposite direction at full speed with her eyes on the basket.

She drove into Katrina Padree, shot an acrobatic layup, which bounced off the backboard, slid across the rim and rattled in, and was fouled. Goodwin made the free throw, converting the three-point play, during a scoring run.

An energetic sequence early in the fourth quarter helped propel the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team to a 79-73 win Wednesday night against West Virginia in Gallagher-Iba Arena. After a loss against Kansas State in their previous game, the Cowgirls produced a much needed bounce-back performance.
