Cowboy hat latest in line of OSU baseball trinkets

As Matt Kroon crossed home plate and celebrated with his teammates, he got a cowboy hat stuffed on his head.

One pitch later, Kroon had to take the hat off because Colin Simpson had crushed a ball over the left-field fence in Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in a game against Oral Roberts and reclaimed the home run hat.

“I think I had it for maybe 30 seconds,” Kroon said. “I turn around, put my batting helmet up and Tank is rounding the bases, and I just walked out and put it on his head.”
