Cowgirls drop series opener to Texas Tech

“We actually outscored them after the delay,” coach Rich Wieligman said. “The delay wasn’t until the third, but if you take out the top of the first we would’ve won.”

The Cowgirl softball team lost its series opener to Texas Tech 5-2 at Cowgirl Stadium.

OSU (19-25, 3-7 Big 12) gave up four runs in the first and didn’t score until the fifth inning. These late starts have hurt the Cowgirls this season as the team seems to have to overcome deficits early on each game.

“We just have to be ready to play,” Wieligman said.
