Women's College World Series: OU, Alabama set for prime-time showdown in opening round

Oklahoma and Alabama are set for a prime-time showdown in the opening round of the Women's College World Series.

The third-seeded Sooners and sixth-seeded Alabama will square off at 6 p.m., the first game of the night session, Thursday at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.

This will be the third WCWS meeting — and fifth game — between OU and Alabama in the last five years. OU has a 1-3 record against the Crimson Tide during that span, including Alabama's 2-1 championship series victory in 2012.

OU won the teams' only meeting this season, 2-0 in March in Fullerton, Calif.
