Top basketball recruit Michael Porter Jr. chooses Missouri

Michael Porter Jr., the top recruit in the 2017 and close friend of Oklahoma commit Trae Young, announced Friday that he was committing to Missouri.

Earlier this week, Porter Jr. had said he was considering Missouri, Oklahoma, Virginia and Washington after asking for his release from a letter of intent with Washington after the firing of longtime coach Lorenzo Romar.

Porter Jr. made his announcement with back-to-back Twitter posts, the first of which was a photo of him in a Missouri jersey and "I'm coming home."

Porter Jr. grew up in the Columbia, Mo.
